What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grand Rapids Kroc Center - Fitness Attendant position at The Salvation Army Central Territory?
Fitness Attendants will supervise participants and programs in the fitness center which includes the cardiovascular, weight machine, free weight, track, personal training and fitness desk area
Provide general supervision of the fitness center
- Provide information and answer questions about available drop-in classes, programs, events and equipment.
- Provide fitness floor orientations by request and tours to prospective new members.
- Check in 12-15 year old patrons who have passed the Teen Fit Permit class.
- Perform class and program check-in procedures.
- Maintain accurate equipment check in and out procedures.
- Complete hourly headcounts and shift checklists as assigned.
- Enforce all safety guidelines that pertain to the fitness center.
Maintain the cleanliness and operation of the fitness equipment
- Clean and inspect all fitness equipment as specified.
- Report all equipment breakdowns according to stated procedure.
- Repair equipment as instructed and trained.
- Return all equipment to their proper location
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Pursuing or having a bachelor's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, physical education or related field preferred.
- Be able to read, write and communicate in English with the preferred ability to also communicate in Spanish.
- Be able to lift and carry 40lbs.
