Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
CFM or related certification preferred.
Certifications in boilers and HVAC systems preferred.
Certified pool operator license required
Work Experience
Requires at least 3 years of experience in current janitorial methods and procedures used to maintain a large multi-use facility.
Must have thorough knowledge of health and sanitation requirements of a public facility, preferably utilizing “green/sustainable” cleaning products and methods.
Other Qualifications
Must have a working knowledge of OSHA standards and practices
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi task
Detail oriented and attention to detail
Must exhibit strong leadership qualities and interpersonal skills.
Must be computer literate.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English (written & verbal)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience in using multiple cleaning machines and devices.
Maintain a current pool operator certification (CPO).
Must be physically fit to do extensive walking, stair climbing, lifting (maximum 50 lbs), and using equipment to move heavier objects.
Must be able to work weekends and evenings
Must have a valid license driver’s license
Principal Functions
The Senior Facilities Lead will assist with the oversight of the day-to-day facility operations of the RJKCCC and will have primary responsibility for oversight of the aquatics area. This includes all building and utility infrastructure as well as working with custodians and overseeing Facilities & Custodial Lead.
Duties and Responsibilities
Give direct supervision to the Facilities & Custodial Lead.
Provide input to the Facilities Manager about the planning and work assignments of facilities staff, including setup and after care of rentals and events.
Assist with the oversight to the day-to-day facility operations, including inventory control.
Monitor the facility and external areas (soccer field, outside courts, spray grounds, etc.), parking lots and landscaped areas daily.
Monitor all electrical, and ventilation systems for each area daily.
Primarily responsible for the pool testing, maintenance and operation.
Identify any needed repairs or special projects to plumbing, electrical, windows or structures.
In conjunction with other Facilities staff, supervise year-round upkeep and maintenance of pool. Work with the Aquatics Manager on maintaining pool filtration systems and health code matters related to operation of the pools.
Assist in the developing, supervision, and execution of year-round preventative maintenance plans.
Meet regularly with the Facilities Manager to set priorities and make recommendations for repairs, remodeling and replacement of facility equipment.
Assist Facilities Manager with the creation of office support systems that will allow for timely and accurate record keeping, including the areas of repair logs, accounting of expenditures and other reporting as required.
Maintain the appearance and functionality of the facilities and grounds components including doors, windows, flooring, roofing, walls, ceilings and furnishings.
Maintain Salvation Army vehicles, including routine maintenance such as oil changes, filters and tire pressure checks, annual inspections and registration renewals and other related upkeep.
In coordination with the Facilities Manager, periodic review of all system-related security plans throughout the organization’s network.
Assist in daily reports for the department.
Inspect equipment on a weekly basis; report needs report.
Ensure appropriate preventative and routine maintenance is performed.
Assist with food pantry pick up, delivery and stocking of shelves, as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
