Job Objective : The Lead Spiritual Counselor is responsible for managing the
spiritual counseling staff. The Lead Spiritual Counselor will
spiritually counsel individuals with various disaffiliations including but not limited to addictions, including alcohol, drugs, gambling, chronic homelessness, etc. They complete counseling and spiritual interviews with beneficiaries, conduct counseling sessions, teach program related classes, develop, and track the progress of rehabilitation plans and stay current on the work therapy component. Maintaining relevant and real time case notes in the Service Point database is required, as well as adding all completed services that include but are not limited to spiritual counseling. The typical shift for this position will be 2nd shift (inclusive of evening hours). Some weekends and holidays will be required.
All counseling sessions completed in the ARC Programs are classified as spiritual counseling.
Essential Functions :
Train, coach, schedule, and coordinate
Spiritual Counselors.
Evaluate all intake applications and assign
spiritual counselors based on what may be the best fit for the beneficiary.
Ensure the integrity of all service point files by completing audits of all beneficiary files for accuracy and completion. This includes but is not limited to ensuring there are weekly case notes, goals are updated weekly, the self- sufficiency matrix is updated intermittently, all assignments, level agreements, and certificates are uploaded, and new beneficiaries are seen within the first 72 hours after intake.
Maintain a case load of 8-20
Work with the DRS to provide feedback on
spiritual counselors' performance.
Work with DRS to provide feedback to
spiritual counselors on their monthly updates of beneficiary progress.
Conduct in-depth interviews with newly admitted beneficiaries (counseling and spiritual assessments, self-sufficiency matrix, short form, and full intakes).
Assist beneficiaries to understand and overcome social and emotional problems, through individual / group spiritual counseling.
Conduct classes and group sessions for beneficiaries including but not limited to interactive journaling and group spiritual counseling.
Design and manage individual rehabilitation plan for beneficiaries. Utilize the program offered by the ARC, and when necessary, ancillary services from other community agencies.
Monitor beneficiaries to evaluate effectiveness of rehabilitation program and adapt rehabilitation goals and plan as needed.
Update the Self-Sufficiency Matrix for each assigned beneficiary (as goals are achieved) for interim and follow-up progress.
Maintenance and security of active online beneficiary files. Secure appropriate background information from other agencies and institutions. Complete weekly case notes, weekly rehabilitation plan progress notes and add appropriate services to each beneficiary file in a timely manner.
Follow up on work therapy progress and challenges at intervals established by the centers policies and procedures.
Develop and implement special projects, programs, and services as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation Services.
Provide statistical information to the personnel responsible for the preparation of monthly statistics.
Assess spiritual needs of beneficiaries, make referrals to Administrator(s) as needed.
Participate in trainings, local seminars, and workshops to enhance counseling skills.
Accurately complete data entry of case notes and services in the current electronic data management system within assigned deadlines.
