Position: Residential Advisor
Department: PSSM - Reed House
Availability of Position: Immediate
Schedule: Full Time and Part Time Plus positions available; Overnight; Weekends

Salary/Grade: $20.00/hr; 76, Non-Exempt

About Philadelphia Social Service Ministries at Reed House: Reed House provides housing and supportive services to single adults with histories of drug and/or alcohol abuse, serious and persistent mental health issues, and physical disabilities. Our services are available to single adults who have lived in Philadelphia's emergency housing programs, transitional housing programs for homeless persons, those who come from institutions such as substance abuse treatment facilities and inpatient mental health programs. The program serves both men and women. Our residential community is an environment dedicated to supporting individuals in achieving self-sufficiency. Our staff are compassionate and have a heart for helping the vulnerable population live independently.
Description of Position: The Resident Advisor (RA) is to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for the Reed House residents through the implementation and monitoring of rules pertaining to resident conduct, fire safety, room conditions, conflict resolution, and curfew restrictions. The RA is to communicate and support all residents in a trauma informed manner. The RA is to effectively communicate with the house manager, other resident advisors, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements: High School Diploma. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check Must have an understanding of and support the Mission of The Salvation Army and the Sanctuary Model.
