Pay Range: $10.03
About this opportunity:
The Kroc Kids provide care for children 10 months old to 10 years old in Child Watch for Kroc members. Under the supervision of the Youth Development Coordinator and Business Manager and the leadership of the Kroc Kids Counselors, the Kroc Kids Junior Counselor will provide enrichment activities that are developmentally appropriate for each age group.
Key responsibilities:
- Engages all children in developmentally appropriate activities, including but not limited to, storytelling, arts and crafts, music and movement, games, and more.
- Supports Kroc Kids Counselors in the delivery of special programs and activities.
- Takes children to various areas of the Kroc Center, including the outdoor playground and basketball gym.
- Always ensures the safety of children by following all policies and procedures.
- Changes diapers and any other general care for babies 6 months and older.
- Ensure all spaces in Child Watch are cleaned and sanitized regularly throughout the day.
- Responding to emergency situations in a calm and professional manner, notifies the Youth Development Coordinator or Kroc management of any problems or incidents.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with parents remains in communication with parents regarding any needs.
What we are looking for in you:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D., and
- One year experience caring for children and infants, or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses & Certifications:
None required, a background in Early Childhood Education preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to use a computer proficiency. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to observe children and ensure their safety. Kneel ,bend ,squat, lift, push, pull and carry children up to 25 lbs. Must be able to see, hear and respond to children’s needs, including reaching high, stooping to the child’s level, sitting on the floor and getting up, and being able to reach a child 20-30 feet away within fifteen seconds without posing a danger to the staff person’s health.
