Who we are

The Snail opened in November of 2025 at 544 Manhattan Avenue in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.

Our mission is to make people happy. We believe that people will not always remember what we do, but they will remember how we make them feel. We do this by nourishing our guests with unpretentious classic dishes, sometimes with a modern take. 

Restaurants are where memories are made, life events, big and small occur here and we feel grateful that our neighbors choose to celebrate here. Every guest is an opportunity to spread joy, achieving this should make you happy. 

The Snail is a modern bar/restaurant that aims to provide a welcoming environment for everyone. We do this with food, drinks and service, all of which are informal and exciting. We look to classics for inspiration and comfort.


Your role within the team
  • You will ensure that recipes and plated dishes are executed to the highest standards possible at all times during service and pre-service.
  • You will work alongside the other members of kitchen leadership to grow and problem solve actively to meet the daily needs of the kitchen. 
  • You will work with the kitchen team to correct where necessary, but more importantly to work alongside the cooks to execute their tasks to standard.
  • You will be well versed in the standards set by the NYC health department to maintain an “A” level rating.
  • You will maintain positive relations between the service staff and the kitchen team by fostering a relationship built on respect and clear communication. 
  • You will educate in equal measure the kitchen team regarding the execution of our recipes and dishes to be served and the service staff on the ingredients, allergies and any other pertinent information they’ll require to delight our guests.
  • You will be responsible for leading and inspiring the kitchen staff to a delight and curiosity about food and why hospitality is important to us at the Snail.
  • You will cover shifts on the line or in pre-service as needed, and maintain a proactive, positive outlook, especially when challenges arise. 
  • You will collaborate with kitchen leadership daily to ensure goals are met, to grow collectively through development of new dishes and to grow the team as a unit. 
What you’ll need to do your job
  • Sharp knives.
  • 3 years NYC hotline experience.
  • A culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and sanitation regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creativity and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • A NYC Food Protection Certification. 
  • Legal status to work in the US
