What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time Showroom Manager position at The Southern Gem?
As a Full-Time Showroom Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of The Southern Gem. You will be responsible for managing the administrative and operational aspects of our store, overseeing day-to-day activities, and working closely with the Design Center. Your primary goal will be to create an efficient and organized work environment to support the sales and design teams, while providing excellent customer service to our clients.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the store, including but not limited to scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing correspondence.
- Maintain accurate records and files, and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all store operations, including sales orders, invoices, and inventory management.
- Ensure sales team meets individual and collective monthly targets through regular check-ins, coaching, and performance tracking.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
- Manage office supplies and inventory, and order replenishments as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service to interior designers/realtors/contractors and their clients. Including greeting customers, answering inquiries, and resolving customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with the sales and design teams to ensure smooth communication and coordination of client orders, deliveries, etc.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized store environment, including merchandising, visual displays, and store layout.
- Support the sales and design teams in managing client appointments, scheduling, and follow-ups.
- Assist with recruitment and onboarding of new team members as needed.
- Manage financial transactions, including processing sales orders, invoicing, and payments.
- Assist in tracking and managing inventory, including monitoring stock levels, conducting inventory audits, and reconciling discrepancies.
- Collaborate with higher-ups to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Good reading, written, and verbal language skills. (English)
- Ability to move and/or lift small items when needed
- Proven experience in office management, preferably in the furniture or interior design industry.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, team members, and vendors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other office management software.
- Knowledge of inventory management and basic accounting principles.
- Friendly, approachable, and customer-service oriented demeanor.
- Familiarity with checkout software (Square, Shopify, or similar platforms).
- Knowledge of using Business Suite, Instagram, Facebook or other platforms to assist with digital sales or customer inquiries.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent (required)
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, or related field (preferred)
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule - couple of weekdays and 2 or more Saturdays (required)
- 2 year of retail management or supervisory experience (preferred)
- 1 year of retail, customer service, or sales experience (preferred)
