Description
The Event Manager is responsible to coordinate all events in the hotel by liaising with all departments. Act as a single contact point for event needs. Maximize the sale of hotel function spaces. Actively solicit and sell event spaces at the hotel. Lead in the maintenance of department tracking systems, databases, and reports. Represent the sales department both internally and externally in a professional manner in accordance with company standards. This role includes administrative work related to the management of catering business operations. Manager must work independently and exercise discretion and judgment.
The ideal candidate for this position

College Degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
Hotel experience preferred.
Knowledge of Opera, Delphi/Triple Seat, Cendyn preferred.
Ability to enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point-of-sale systems.
- Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor.
Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and have a high level of attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to work independently and to collaborate with others to promote an environment of teamwork.
What you will be doing
Facilitate site visits and conference calls
Lead the Events Department
Actively sell and manage all event planning process
Answer sales event leads and sends proposals and estimates with the support of the Sales Coordinator
Maximization of catering revenues for in-house groups and communication of function arrangements to all responsible parties
Follow up on all event leads
Create contracts, BEO’s, Banquet checks with the support of Sales Coordinator
Event Administrator for Triple Seat (Groups Events Booking System)
Create all SOP’s for Catering and Banquets teams
Manage scheduling and payroll for Catered events for proper employee payouts
Manage all outside Event vendors and relationships to events
Greet the client at events booked
Assist in major events if needed (Art Basel, Swim Show etc.)
Sales Monthly Goals:
The Sales Team will be required to complete the following activities monthly.
o Prospecting Calls Defined as a new account, account dormant for 1 year or uncovering new contact within an existing account
o Follow-Up Defined as account maintenance checking-in on a client, following up on event or upcoming stay
o Site Tours/On-site Entertainment
o Off-site Entertainment/Appointment
o Networking Events
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 15 pounds without assistance
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
Qualifications
