Position Summary:
The Project Manager plays a vital role in overseeing and coordinating administrative or operations related agency projects from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards. They act as the central point of contact between stakeholders, clients, and the project team, guiding the project through its various stages. This role involves applying specialized project management knowledge, skills, and techniques to translate strategic goals into actionable plans.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
The Project Manager plays a vital role in overseeing and coordinating administrative or operations related agency projects from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards. They act as the central point of contact between stakeholders, clients, and the project team, guiding the project through its various stages. This role involves applying specialized project management knowledge, skills, and techniques to translate strategic goals into actionable plans.
Team Leadership & Management: Assemble and lead project teams, assign tasks based on individual competencies and foster a collaborative work environment. Provide guidance, motivation, and support to team members throughout the project lifecycle. Facilitate communication and collaboration within the project team.
Project Monitoring & Control: Track and monitor project progress against established timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Identify and address potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies proactively. Implement quality control measures to ensure deliverables meet or exceed expectations. Manage and adapt to changes in project scope, schedule, or budget, communicating updates to all relevant parties.
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: Act as the primary point of contact for project-related communication, ensuring transparency and alignment among stakeholders and clients. Prepare regular reports and presentations on project status, progress, and outcomes for upper management and stakeholders.
Post-Project Evaluation: Evaluate project performance and outcomes against objectives, identifying areas for improvement and lessons learned. Ensure proper project closure, including documentation, evaluation, and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications
Special Qualifications:
Project management involves setting project goals, establishing tasks and a timeline for completion by assigned parties, and evaluating progress and making adjustments as needed to ensure that clients, internal or external, achieve their desired results. They coordinate project activities, budgets, personnel and work with other departments to meet deadlines and project goals within set resources and under firm deadlines.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in management, business, communications or related field. Experience may be substituted for education.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and experience using project management tools
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, navigate challenges and ensure successful delivery
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and negotiation skills
- Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements
Preferred:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or other recognized project management certification
- Experience in KDADS programs
- Experience in coaching and mentoring team members
