We’re hiring an experienced HR Director to lead human resources for our field and office teams across Nevada, Texas, and Arizona. This is a regional leadership role with a matrix reporting relationship to our CHRO in Nashville and daily partnership with operational leaders.

The HR Director – Southwest Region is a key leadership role responsible for delivering human resources support across field and office-based operations in Nevada, Texas, and Arizona. This individual will serve as the strategic HR partner to regional leaders while maintaining alignment with corporate HR policies and initiatives from the Nashville-based headquarters.

This is a hands-on, field-oriented position supporting a workforce that includes seasonal labor, heavy equipment operators, and skilled tradespeople. The HR Director will operate in a matrix environment, reporting directly to regional operations leadership and functionally to the Chief Human Resources Officer at PPG.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Partnership & Execution:

  • Act as the primary HR contact for regional operational teams.
  • Partner with corporate HR to implement policies, programs, and culture initiatives at the regional level.
  • Travel regularly to job sites and remote offices to maintain visibility and trust.
  • Lead or support HRIS implementation efforts across the region; experience with UKG systems a strong plus.
  • Manage employee benefits administration in partnership with corporate benefits resources.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with federal/state employment laws across NV, TX, and AZ.
  • Support audits, investigations, and legal compliance requirements in the field.
  • Coordinate with Corporate HR on complex employee relations matters.

Talent Management:

  • Lead recruiting support for seasonal and full-time roles.
  • Oversee onboarding, training, and new hire orientation across multiple locations.
  • Implement and manage regional talent review processes and succession planning programs in alignment with corporate talent strategies.
  • Support succession planning and skills development for key regional roles.

Employee Engagement & Culture:

  • Coach leaders on employee relations, performance management, and retention strategies.
  • Lead engagement and communication efforts for the regional workforce.
  • Champion a safety-first and values-driven workplace culture.

Corporate Coordination:

  • Participate in corporate HR initiatives, providing field-level insights and feedback.
  • Ensure consistency in HR service delivery in collaboration with CHRO and other regional HR teams.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and leadership meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (Master’s a plus)
  • 8 years of progressive HR experience with multi-site responsibility; at least 3 years in a senior or regional HR role
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws in NV, TX, and AZ
  • Experience in construction, contracting, field services, or industrial trades environments preferred
  • Demonstrated experience implementing HRIS platforms; UKG experience preferred
  • Experience administering employee benefit programs and related compliance
  • Proven ability to execute talent reviews and succession planning programs
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and collaborate across geographies
  • Comfortable traveling regionally 20%
  • PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SCP certification preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a strong plus
