Our ideal candidate is currently a Front of House Manager in a fast-paced, busy fine dining establishment, and is looking to take his or her career to the next level. What you will do...
- Oversee all dining room operations during your shift, ensuring the highest level of excellence in service, hospitality and ambience.
- Responsible for setting a tone of engagement, positivity, fun and focus for the entire Front of House staff.
- Manage labor costs and ensure all California wage & hour laws are being followed.
- Ensure all safety practices are being adhered to including COVID and other Health Department protocols.
- Lead the FOH team through hiring, coaching/counseling, training, showing appreciation, scheduling, and safety.
- Be actively involved in the P&L process (managing labor, controllable costs, etc)
- Collaborate interdepartmentally as needed to plan restaurant activities, share information, run special events, attend all manager meetings, etc
- Above all else, be the embodiment of gracious hospitality to employees and guests alike. Ensure that we retain top talent and that every guest leaves The Strand House raving about their experience and excited to come back
This Position is for you if you have...
- A minimum of 2 years experience as a Restaurant Manager at a busy, upscale restaurant.
- A sincere desire and ability to provide exceptional hospitality to guests and co-workers.
- Depth of knowledge in food, beer, wine, spirits, financials, scheduling and service.
- Experience with Resy (or similar reservations system) and managing a very busy front desk.
- Must have experience managing a large front of house staff and be willing and able to hold them accountable in a firm but positive manner
- A positive attitude and leadership style.
- A knack for developing talent.
- Strong knowledge of CA wage & hour laws.
- Strong work ethic AND the ability to disengage from work and enjoy life during time off.
- Sense of urgency and superior time management and follow-up skills.
- A strong sense of integrity ~ you do the right thing even when no one is looking.
