Description
I. POSITION SUMMARY
The Warehouse Associate performs an array of functions, including processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filing orders from stock, packing, processing orders for shipment, and organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse.
II. POSITION EXPECTATIONS
- Collaborates with other teams to handle inbound and outbound product
- Loads and unloads packages onto or from carts, pallets, or conveyor systems
- Ensures outbound order accuracy is maintained by reading labels and manifest paperwork for proper package distribution to the designated delivery routes
- Inspects stock items for wear and defects prior to releasing them for distribution
- Understands all company safety guidelines and protocols outlined in the company’s Safety Handbook
- Operates tools and material-handling equipment in performance of duties within company safety guidelines
- Assists in general facility upkeep, including emptying trash and compacting recyclable materials
- Assists Delivery team by sorting and loading outbound merchandise onto vehicles as needed
- Assists Service team by assembling furniture items and preparing and moving equipment as needed
- Assists internal and external customers by moving, loading, and unloading merchandise as directed
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, procedures, and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
III. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Education, Certifications and /or Licenses:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Certification in standard warehouse equipment preferred, including sitting or standing forklift and reach truck
Experience:
- 1 year’s experience in a warehouse environment preferred
Knowledge/Skills:
- Basic math and computer skills
- Listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team; willingness to roll up sleeves and help the team
- Ability to manage and organize time to meet objectives and deadlines

V. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be required to do the following:
- Ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, or ramps
- Perform activities such as balance, bend/stoop, crouch, kneel, push/pull, reach, squat
- Move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including in confined spaces
- Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Move about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
- Adjust or move objects up to 2,000 pounds in all directions using proper lifting technique and equipment
- Lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted
- Lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted repeatedly
- Communicate with others to exchange information
- Repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work
- Operate machinery and/or power tools
- Operate standard warehouse material-handling equipment

VI. WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT
This position primarily works in a warehouse environment. The warehouse is not climate-controlled, and can be subject to fluctuating weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally high. Associates in this environment are required to wear attire that is safe for the work environment conditions.
VII. COMPENSATION
- Pay range: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour, paid on a biweekly basis
