This is a true Engineer position Strong Dynatrace background is key – need to really understand how Dynatrace works, not just a light user, know how to log into the portal, etc. This team does monitoring across IT – back and front-end. Application performance monitoring is really what they do. Dynatrace is the tool they use to monitor the environment today, primarily from an app perspective. This person will need to look at the Dynatrace portal/dashboard and correlate that back to root cause analysis, understanding where the problems lie within those problem cards. Need to have strong knowledge here. A few years of experience with Dynatrace is required (3) Fully remote is okay, prefer to be within 1 time zone of CST Very collaborative, close-knit team. Will be excited to help support someone new coming on board. Use Teams a lot. Team of 5. Looking for someone who is self-driven, self-motivated. Always the opportunity for them to convert if they display strength here. Screening question: - We need an application performance engineer using the Dynatrace tool, not an analyst. Need someone who has a background looking into application performance. This is truly an engineer position – this person will help people pinpoint issues within the tool through engineering. Need to be able to find a problem card AND interpret it.

Description:
As an Engineer 2 you will be responsible for using your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve business problems. We are looking for a talented individual that can serve as a subject matter expert in their area of focus and represent their department on complex assignments. You will be responsible for evaluating elements of technology's effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research and investigation and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness. You will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high quality solutions that align with customer expectations.

As an Engineer 2, you will be responsible for collaborating with management, site reliability engineers, cloud and platform teams, application developers, and product owners to identify end-user requirements and specifications for application performance monitoring. You will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high quality solutions that align with customer expectations. This will involve developing monitoring solutions, automating workflows and using your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve business problems. You will be responsible for evaluating elements of technology’s effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research and investigation and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness. You will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high-quality solutions that align with customer expectations.

The Event Management, Logging, Monitoring, and Alerting (ELMA) team partners to drive business values through in-depth insights into the health and performance of EHI solutions and products. The position will help provide application performance monitoring throughout the IT organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Implementation and Configuration: responsible for implementing and configuring Dynatrace’s Application Performance Monitoring (APM) solution across various environments. This includes setting up dashboards, alerts, and reports to monitor application performance
  • Performance Analysis: analyze application performance data collected by Dynatrace to identify potential issues and areas for improvement. This includes working closely with development teams to optimize application performance
  • Troubleshooting: use Dynatrace tools to troubleshoot and resolve application performance issues. This may involve working with other IT teams to coordinate issue resolution
  • Continuous Improvement: continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the Dynatrace implementation and make recommendations for improvements
  • CI/CD Pipeline: assist the team in taking ownership of and automating our CI/CD pipeline where possible

Qualifications:
Required:
  • 3 years experience with Dynatrace in the following areas:
  • Developing custom dashboards, alerts, and reports
  • Proven experience with Dynatrace APM tools
  • Strong understanding of application performance management concepts
  • Managing/modifying user permissions via management zones
  • Identifying application performance improvement opportunities and creating corresponding monitoring and alerts
  • Measuring, analyzing, and reporting license consumption of new and existing configurations
  • Must be highly collaborative and an excellent communicator, both written and verbally
  • Proven ability to extrapolate data out of application monitoring tools and present to non-technical resources, including leadership
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Must be willing and able to quickly learn new tools, technologies, and platforms as required
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software products

Preferred qualifications:
  • Dynatrace certification
  • Dynatrace Runtime Application Protection experience, configuring SRGs and GRAIL
  • Cloud-based tooling, scripting, and monitoring
  • Familiarity with application-build tooling and development practices in general
  • Java software development
  • Experience with the use of version control systems for code management (Git is a plus)
  • Experience with code scanning and vulnerability analysis
  • Experience working with AWS
  • CI/CD pipeline tooling and applications
  • Working knowledge of Unit testing
  • Knowledge and experience with the Atlassian Suite or other DevOps application suites
  • Experience with application Profiling Skills (Core Java, Thread Dumps, etc
  • Experience with Middleware technologies (Tomcat, Weblogic, and Adobe AEM)
