Job Description: We are seeking a friendly and reliable Receptionist to join our team at Tooth Ferry Pediatric Dentistry. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive experience from the moment they enter our clinic. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly as they arrive at the clinic, ensuring they feel welcome and comfortable.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding appointments, services, and general information about the practice.
  • Schedule appointments efficiently, coordinating with patients' preferences and availability.
  • Verify patient information, update records accurately, and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Collect patient payments and issue receipts as needed.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized reception area, waiting room and patient restroom, ensuring it is presentable at all times.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as communicating through Modento and email.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient clinic operations.
  • Handle patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Provide oral health education materials and resources to patients and families as directed by the dental team.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a customer service or receptionist role, preferably in a healthcare or dental setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.
  • Knowledge of basic administrative tasks and familiarity with office software applications (Modento, LocalMed, Dentrix, Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in office administration is a plus.
  • Passion for working with children and families and a commitment to promoting oral health and wellbeing.
