Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Develops, maintains and supports data analysis pipelines that include data collection, data management, data transformation (e.g., converting images into other data types), data analysis and documentation. Primary data will be text data.
- Implements NLP algorithms, summarizes findings and generates study results and figures.
- Independently proposes and executes practical solutions to research challenges. This includes working closely with faculty to identify, develop, and implement useful computational methods and resources that support or advance their research.
- Develops, installs and tests scientific software in support of research goals.
- Prepares and contributes contents to manuscripts and presentations.
- Manages data collection and storage.
- Develops and presents technical training materials and web-based documentation. Ensures timely systems support and updates. Assists in conducting information security assessments and risk analysis of computing environment.
- Evaluates past and present technologies to help develop new tools. Ensures all the new tools have been through quality control reviews.
- Performs other related work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
- Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g. Python).
- Knowledge of text analysis, including natural language processing and data mining.
- Experience with Linux/Unix.
- Experience with tools such as Github.
- Knowledge of cross-modal analysis, a plus.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g. C /C, Julia).
- Knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with running computational jobs on high-end computing systems.
- Understand and translate researchers' scientific goals into computational requirements.
- Identify and gain expertise in appropriate new technologies and/or software tools.

- Self-starter with strong ability to work independently.
