POSITION SUMMARY
The Office of Alumni Relations at the UConn Foundation strives to connect alumni, support students, and strengthen UConn through a variety of programs and services designed to engage alumni throughout the year.
Primary roles include assisting in all aspects of operational support for events, working in the organization’s internal databases and event management system, and assisting with office duties as needed. The Alumni Relations Student Worker will report to the Alumni Relations Specialist but will work with multiple staff members on a day-to-day basis.
Primary Responsibilities
Primary Roles:
- Provide operational support for events
- Printing of rosters and nametags
- Manage inventory and supplies
- Preparing event materials
- Sending event supplies to alumni network group leaders
- Alumni outreach - mailings and social media
- May assist with events if transportation permits
- Work in all Foundation databases and event management systems
- Creating and maintaining event records and attendance of registrants
- Other office duties
- FedEx and mailings
- Submitting reimbursements
- Other duties as needed
Learning Opportunities:
Students will gain valuable professional experience in event planning, alumni networking, logistics, constituent engagement, alumni outreach, customer service, and volunteer management. They will be invited to participate in planning meetings with staff as schedules allow. After a period of two semesters, employment may be extended.

Requirements:
- Must be available for at least two semesters
- Ability to work at least 10 hours per week
- Work schedule will be determined based on student worker’s availability each semester, but the majority of regularly scheduled hours must fall on Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Must have demonstrated interest in event planning or execution
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Values diversity and inclusion in the workplace
Education & Experience
- Enrollment at the University of Connecticut
- A student in good standing related to grade point average and student code of conduct
- Ability to work during school breaks preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams preferred
