Position Summary
The University of New Mexico’s Centerfor Memory & Aging is seeking a Clinical Research Supervisor for the newlyfunded New Mexico Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (NM ADRC). The Center for Memory & Aging(CMA) at UNM is funded primarily from National Institute of Health (NIH) grantmechanisms, our main projects involve longitudinal study of older participantswith and without cognitive problems, including collection of MRIs, cognitive,neurological, and biospecimen data. Currently all our research studies workwith older adults, ages 50 and above. The Center for Memory & Aging is agrowing center with a focus on research in Alzheimer’s and related dementias.We have a long record of continued research funding.
The CMA is seeking a self-starter, motivated candidate to coordinate the day-to dayactivities for research studies. The ideal candidate will have experiencecoordinating research clinical trials or participant-based research studies.Understanding and training in Human Research as well as Good Clinical Practicewill be required.
The responsibilities will include recruiting and schedulingpatients for ongoing research studies, ensuring protocol adherence for eachstudy, and maintaining accurate records. Duties also include the collection,compilation, and management of study data. The individual in this position musthave strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to workeffectively with a wide range of people in a diverse community, particularlyolder adults with cognitive difficulties and their families. This employee willwork with confidential information and data, work directly with patients andphysicians, to schedule and coordinate research appointments and examinations.Position may involve sporadic travel for recruitment events, generally withinthe Albuquerque area.
In addition to the above, the position may include assisting with the coordination of add on studies which may include EEG, EKG, PETscan and other medical procedures which this position would help to coordinate.Interest or experience in other medical procedures would be an asset.
Conditions of Employment
- May be required to submit to annual TB and rubella screening.
- UNM will provide Hepatitis vaccination, candidate may decline vaccination through declination form or may provide record of vaccination from previous employer.
- Specialty licensure / certification may be required, as specified by the department.
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
- Must maintain certification status.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification / Licensure Current ACRP Certification as Clinical Research Coordinator or eligible for certification.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
