Position Summary
This position is housed in the UNCG School of Education (SOE) Dean’s Office. The Project Manager position will support post-award activities for SCALE UP (School Counseling Access, Leadership, and Equity: Upgrading the Pipeline), a 5-year grant sponsored by the U. S. Department of Education. SCALE UP supports the development of the pipeline for school based mental health professionals through school counseling internship placements, undergraduate curriculum design and implementation, and development of video-based resources for secondary and undergraduate students.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of grant activities and serve as the point of contact for all inquiries and communication regarding SCALE UP. They will be responsible for establishing standard operating procedures and creating efficient flow of operations for the grant activities. The person in this position is expected to use considerable judgment to perform work responsibilities and must be able to work independently with limited direct supervision, and in collaboration with multiple stakeholders including the Principal Investigator (PI), project team, faculty, staff, students, UNCG central office and external project partners in Rockingham and Alamance Counties.
Other duties include financial record keeping; budget reconciliation and revisions; processing and tracking of expenditures; scheduling events and meetings; personnel actions; ordering supplies and maintaining inventory; coordinating participant travel; communicating with project stakeholders; assisting with the project website development and maintenance; assisting with coordination of filming and video editing services; assisting with reporting, grant and budgetary closeout; and the coordination of the project team. As the primary fiscal contact for the project, the Project Manager will work closely with the School of Education’s Research Office, the Office of Contracts & Grants and the Office of Sponsored Programs.
Additionally, the Project Manager will assist with recruitment of students for the school counseling master’s program. This will involve coordinating the process of student selection, admissions, and registration. This person will also be responsible for the creation and distribution of recruitment/project materials as well as purchasing necessary supplies.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.



Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates

Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) to two (2) years in an academic setting with knowledge of Banner Finance and Banner HR.
  • Strong communication, organization, planning, and computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, Monday.com for data management).
  • Ability to work independently, and in collaboration with multiple stakeholders including faculty, staff, students, UNCG central office and project partners.

Alternate Option
