    General Notes

    This is a grant-funded position and reassignment will be based upon performance, progress toward research goals and continuation of funding. Some travel required. Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.

    Purpose

    This position involves conducting assessments, delivering and training older adults on videoconferencing equipment, and providing Tele-BA (Behavioral Activation) treatment for depression and Fall Prevention sessions. Home visits are required for hands-on training and support, with strict adherence to health and safety guidelines.

    Responsibilities

    • Communicate with the Principal Investigator (PI) and other team members regarding participants’ clinical status as needed.
    • Conduct baseline assessments and 1) five Tele-BA sessions and four booster calls; and 2) four fall prevention sessions and five booster calls for each participant who would be randomized to participate in Tele-BA, Tele-BA FP (Fall Prevention), or FP (Fall Prevention) while adhering to the intervention fidelity. Maximum case load is 4-5 cases.
    • Conduct telephone or in-person home visits as needed for baseline assessments. Bring study materials (session folders containing printouts of psycho-education materials, sessions worksheets) and iPads for video-conference sessions.
    • Conduct home visits to deliver client compensation (incentives) for baseline and follow-up assessments as needed.
    • Provide technology support for both the research study and the participant. Keep session progress notes.


    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree in social work or related field with at least 4 years of related work experience OR a Master's Degree in social work or related field with 2 years of related work experience. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal skills. Values the contributions of others in the work environment. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Prior experience in social services.

    Driving Required

    This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

    Salary Range

    $52,000 (Prorated: $26,000 at 20 hours/week)

    Employment Eligibility:

    Retirement Plan Eligibility:

    The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
