What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Clinician position at The University of Vermont Health Network?
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Nurse Clinician is responsible for the clinical coordination of care related to a specific group of patients or aspect of patient care. Coordination of care extends across the University of Vermont Medical Center and to the outside community. This person applies specialized knowledge through direct patient/family care, teaching, consultation, research, guidance of other nursing personnel and other members of the health care team.
EDUCATION:
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter. Current internal RNs are strongly encouraged to pursue a BSN to support this initiative. Master's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years relevant RN clinical experience in specialty area.
