Preschool Teacher

The Valley School- Middletown is looking for a Preschool Co-Teacher to join our team. We are a licensed child care center looking for an energetic, creative, dependable and nurturing teacher for our preschool program.

Duties:

• Provide developmentally appropriate care that is based on the needs of the child, age, ability and orientation
• Maintain a clean and safe environment that is in compliance with all licensing regulations
• Perform daily housekeeping duties including cleaning, sanitizing, cleaning equipment, meals, diapering, etc.
• Maintain a healthy relationship with the child's family by communicating with parents regularly about the child's development
• Develop positive relationships with other care providers, families and neighbors
• Communicate with parents regularly about the child's development
• Maintain professional skills through continuing education training and a licensure renewal
• Attend ongoing training to improve your skills and knowledge
• Create and implement age appropriate lesson plans using the provided curriculum

Skills:

• Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher (minimum of 1 year experience)
• Minimum completion of the 90 hour Preschool Certification required
• B.A. or A.A. or CDA in ECE a plus but not required
• Excellent knowledge of child development and preschool educational methods
• Able to engage children in a positive and age appropriate manner.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
