Job Description
The Washington Post seeks a highly experienced and creative photo assignment editor to join our award-winning team of visual journalists who find fresh and compelling ways to tell stories.
This photo assignment editor will assign, research and generate photographic ideas for our climate and environment report, including national and international targets focused on the human and economic impact of climate change.
This photo editor must have a nuanced eye for photography and be able to work with freelance photographers and our staff photojournalists. The successful candidate for this rewarding position will work collaboratively with our climate reporting teams to produce photography that is engaging and informative, and with our visual enterprise editor and design team to present powerful visual storytelling on multiple platforms.

This position is based in our Washington newsroom and is not eligible for remote work.
