The Winthrop Group, an top history and archival services firm headquartered in New York City, is searching for a part-time Historical Consultant. The individual will work closely with Winthrop’s leadership and team members to support specific client projects. A collaborative and collegial mindset is a must.
Our historical work is diverse and ever-changing, including everything from highly-targeted research requests to oral history interviews, book projects, videos, digital media, and exhibits. Clients include Fortune 500 companies, major nonprofits and educational institutions, as well as private, family-run businesses and individuals. An interest and facility to learn quickly across industries and sectors is critical.
As a Historical Consultant with The Winthrop Group, this position requires a high level of expertise in historical research, writing, and (ideally) presentation to support clients. In this role, the Historical Consultant will have the opportunity to work with diverse clients across sectors, reporting directly to the Managing Director of the Histories Practice.
Qualifications
· Ph.D. in History preferred.
· Demonstrated potential for excellence in research, writing, and analysis.
· Demonstrated potential for success in professional, client-facing activities, including with senior leadership.
