We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Designer to join our Los Angeles-based team. This role is dedicated to bringing refined, effortless style to life through expert craftsmanship and a passion for perfect fit. Focused on women’s premium denim and knit/woven apparel.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the technical development of women’s denim and casual lifestyle apparel from initial concept through production.
- Create and maintain detailed tech packs, inclusive of technical sketches, specs, BOMs, construction details, and fit comments.
- Collaborate closely with Design, Product Development, and Production teams to ensure brand fit standards and aesthetic integrity are maintained throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lead fittings on live models; capture precise feedback and translate fit corrections clearly for overseas factory partners.
- Maintain and update blocks, grade rules, and measurement standards in alignment with brand identity and seasonal direction.
- Partner with wash and fabric teams to ensure garments meet quality, shrinkage, and performance standards.
- Ensure all garments meet the highest standards of construction, fit, and finish – with an eye for polished detailing and a modern sensibility.
- Support cross-functional initiatives related to process improvement, workflow efficiencies, and innovation in product execution.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in technical design with a strong focus on premium denim and contemporary women’s apparel.
- Proven expertise in denim fit, construction, shrinkage, and finishing techniques.
- Deep understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, and grading.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and PLM systems (Flex PLM a plus).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively with both domestic teams and offshore vendors.
- Ability to work on-site 5 days per week and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative studio environment.
