Training Specialist

Description:  Plans, coordinates and implements required associate training for Y associates in various departments online, in the classroom and at various offsite locations. Contributes and manages content for LMS training communications to Y associates.  Works with HR team on various development projects. Demonstrates the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all areas of job performance. Job Functions:Proficient with personal computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, learning management software, and web -based course design.Ability to work independently, plan, organize, and deliver effective training programs.Ability to follow a curriculum design.Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse associate members across all departments.Plans, coordinates and implements in-house training programs, including New Associates Orientation, and other required training in accordance with Y of Central Maryland Training Policy and Procedures.  Ensures that training content and scheduling meets the needs of our customers.Designs, creates and maintains online Training newsletter, alerts and announcements. Works with HR Generalist to design career path training plans.Maintains and submits training rosters upon completion of training to the Association Training Coordinator to ensure training records are updated and monitored. Coordinates preparations in advance of training events, i.e. training materials, advance communication to participants, etc.  Submits requests for additional materials and audio/visual equipment to the Association Training Coordinator in advance.Attends periodic train-the-trainer workshops as requiredQualifications:EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent.Some college or AA degree preferred.ExperienceTwo or more years of related experience in training adults demonstrating good presentation skillsCertificationsFirst Aid, CPR and Oxygen Trainer Certifications required.
