Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The client is wheelchair bound she also has Alzheimer's. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients, particularly those requiring assistance due to age, illness, or disability. This role involves delivering personalized care and support while ensuring the dignity and independence of each client.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
- Assist with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met according to dietary restrictions.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Help clients with mobility and transfers, using appropriate techniques to ensure safety.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to family members or healthcare professionals.
- Support clients with dementia care by employing effective communication strategies and maintaining a calm environment.
- Uphold resident rights while fostering a respectful and dignified atmosphere in the home.
- Monitor vital signs as needed and report any significant changes to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care, assisted living, or group home settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices and social work principles is highly desirable.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Understanding of resident rights and commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Ability to prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual client needs.
- Proficiency in monitoring vital signs is beneficial but not mandatory; training may be provided.
- Must be reliable, patient, and compassionate, with a genuine desire to help others maintain their independence at home.
