Responsibilities:
- Provide support to special education students in a classroom setting
- Collaborate with teachers and other paraprofessionals to create and modify curriculum materials
- Help students with daily tasks, including personal care and hygiene
- Support students in developing social skills and promoting positive behavior
- Assist in the implementation of behavior management strategies
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students as directed by the teacher
- Support students in academic areas such as math and literacy education
- Assist with lesson planning and curriculum development
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and empathy when working with special education students
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with a team
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies
- Experience working with toddlers or preschool-aged children is a plus
This position requires a passion for working with special education students and helping them succeed academically and socially.
