Responsibilities
- Perform postmortem examinations by functioning as the primary prosector, including external examination, in-situ organ inspection, evisceration, dissection, and gross anatomic findings to determine cause of death.
- Maintain all gross room and morgue equipment, pathology archives, and archived specimens.
- Prepare tissues for microscopic examination, including frozen and permanent sections for light, electron, and immunofluorescent microscopy.
- Assure proper maintenance of equipment, adequate supplies, and cleanliness of the surgical pathology area for safe operation.
