What are the responsibilities and job description for the FACILITIES WORKER position at Thorne Research Inc?
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for performing facilities services, grounds maintenance, and minor repairs of Thorne Research facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES – Satisfactorily performing and/or achieving the following Responsibilities are essential duties of the job.
- Performs facilities services tasks including furniture and event set-ups, and parts “running”.
- Completes minor repairs, painting, and small carpentry projects.
- Performs scheduled preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Performs grounds maintenance tasks including snow/ice removal, leaf and litter removal, and minor exterior facilities repairs.
- Coordinates turf/landscape maintenance vendor tasks including mowing, trimming, pruning, weeding, planting, and mulching.
- Coordinates with contractors performing facility repairs.
- Has working knowledge of the Thorne facilities and maintenance equipment. Reports damage or potential problems with equipment, grounds, or facilities in a timely manner.
- Maintains work areas in a neat and efficient matter, assuring equipment and tools are properly stored after each project is completed.
- Keeps supervisor informed of project status and recognizes the need to ask for help in order to achieve goals. Understands and follows changes in procedures.
- Arrives at work as scheduled, starts work at the beginning of a shift, is on time to meetings, arrives back from lunch and breaks on time, completes assigned tasks in a timely manner, and works overtime as required.
- Demonstrates initiative and job knowledge by suggesting ideas, discovering new and better ways of accomplishing goals and finds innovative, well thought-out solutions to problems.
- Knows and follows the Maintenance Department policies and procedures and Thorne Research policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Seeks formal and informal performance assessments of self, including performance versus expectations and goals, behaviors, and leadership potential.
