The Valet Attendant is responsible for greeting hotel guests with a warm welcome, unloading luggage, parking and retrieving cars while providing stellar customer service.

The Valet Attendant is responsible for greeting hotel guests with a warm welcome, unloading luggage, parking and retrieving cars while providing stellar customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Warmly welcome guests, creating a positive first impression
- Park cars safely.
- Retrieve cars in a safe and timely manner.
- Ensure parked cars are secured and keys are stored in a safe place.
- Promote hotel facilities and provide accurate information on local attractions, events, transportation arrangement and directions around the community
- Be responsive to instructions and suggestions and work to resolve problems.
- Adhere to arrangements made and instructions relating to special guest needs, large group arrivals, VIP and special requests, special transportation needs, etc.
- Load and unload guest luggage and other belongings from vehicles, escort guests to and from guest rooms, transport belongings to and from guest rooms, bell closet and other hotel areas, navigate bell carts carefully through public areas, in and out of elevators and in corridors, demonstrate features of guest room and promote hotel facilities, deliver guest faxes, amenities, etc.
- Complete baggage claim tickets, read and match luggage tags to tickets, detach and give to guest their portion of claim ticket.
- Organize and store luggage in designated area.
- Assist team members as needed.
- Transport guests to and from designated and approved locations using official hotel vehicles.
- Operate hotel vehicles in a safe manner and in accordance with established laws.
- Perform assigned duties associated with guest transportation (ex. maintain logs, show videos, etc.).
- Read, track and comply with guest transportation schedules established on a daily basis.
- Properly maintain and clean hotel vehicles.
- Ensure the timely delivery of guest luggage, packages, gifts, messages, facsimiles, newspapers, etc.
- Follow security procedures on the handling of guest room keys and the protection of guest related information.
- Listen to and promptly act to correct guest problems and complaints.
- Clean and organize hotel front entrance, bell stand area and bell closet including daily light cleaning.
- SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Listen, understand and respond immediately to customer and team member inquiries and requests for assistance.
- Greet customers with a friendly and sincere welcome.
- Must be at least 18 years of age (21 if required to drive the Company vehicle)
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing) in order to communicate with Guest and other Team Members as needed.
- Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions given.
- Ability to comply in standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Ability to work flexible shifts
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to work without constant supervision.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time; using arms, hands and legs repetitively; handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee frequently is required to push heavy carts, carry heavy luggage or other walk, climb or balance, talk and hear.
- May be required to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds or more; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be capable of effectively using close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
- Able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
- High school education or equivalent is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to successfully pass an MVR check
- Must be able to pass a Drug screening if driving the Company Vehicle.
- Must be able to drive a manual and automatic transmission vehicle (if driving the Company Vehicle)
- Preferred six (6) months related experience
- Must be able to work in team environment
