Summary of Job Duties:
Under minimal supervision, lead and manage the financial team ensuring daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting required utilizing GAAP principles for a manufacturing and distribution company. This is a leadership and management position overseeing AP, AR, Payroll, general Accounting.
Specific Job Duties:
- Manage an accounting staff including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Provide timely and comparative monthly, quarterly, calendar year-end and fiscal year-end financial statements.
- Prepare quarterly sales tax returns and annual property tax returns in a timely manner.
- Analyze and research variances, reconcile identified variances resulting in accurate financial output are logical, explainable, and accurate.
- Using financial data available, perform various financial analysis that will promote clarity of issues impacting financial performance.
- Monitor the work output of the accounting staff for accuracy and look for ways to improve and modernize systems as well as keep the accounting staff trained in their jobs and cross-trained in other accounting areas where necessary.
- Work closely with the Company’s outside CPA auditors, especially for the calendar year-end taxes and the fiscal year-end certified audit.
- Pursue strategies for the Company to save money and improve business operations based on monthly financial analysis.
- Manage cash and loan balances and ensure Threshold meets reporting and banking covenants.
- Responsible for overseeing Company lease property program, evaluating property options and ensuring lease payments are timely and accurate.
- Work with Cross-departmental management to help calculate measurable productivity benchmarks and assist where needed.
- Perform special financial or accounting projects as requested.
- Work closely with the CFO on all financial and accounting staff issues.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- B.S. degree in Finance/Accounting or a related degree, MBA preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft version 2017, Excel, Access, Outlook and Word.
- Knowledge and practical experience of the workings of an ERP or MRP (Navision) system.
- 5 years or more of Financial and Accounting management and work experience.
- Excellent Verbal and written communication skills.
Skills and/or Training Desired:
- CPA or Masters Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Excellent financial and analytic skills.
- Extremely organized, strong follow-up skills.
