Job Intro:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our healthcare team. This role is specific to existing client locations paid on a Part-Time Fee-for-Service basis. We provide the necessary administrative support for scheduling and billing so you can focus on patient care and fulfilling our service delivery. This position serves site locations in the Ocala area, where you will visit one location per day. Ideally, you reside in the Ocala area to ensure your daily commute remains approximately 45 minutes or fewer to any site.


The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive mental health counseling services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, and crisis intervention. This role involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.


Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the management and treatment of clients with mental health needs, primarily within the rehabilitation population and senior living communities. Your primary role will be to provide counseling, therapy, and mental health support to individuals struggling with emotional, psychological, and behavioral challenges.

 

Clinical Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group therapy tailored to the needs of geriatric clients.
  • Utilize evidence-based counseling techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and other appropriate modalities.
  • Initiate Baker Act involuntary treatment documents and facilitate admission to an appropriate inpatient facility when indicated.
  • Develop and facilitate therapeutic support groups to promote emotional well-being.
  • Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments for individuals experiencing acute distress.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and caregivers to support mental health treatment goals.
  • Coordinate referrals to psychiatrists or other medical professionals for clients requiring medication management.
  • Maintain detailed, confidential, and compliant electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Offer psychoeducation to clients and families regarding mental health conditions, coping skills, and treatment options.


Collaboration & Compliance:

  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, state, and federal healthcare regulations.
  • Stay current with professional continuing education and emerging best practices in mental health treatment.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Active LMHC license in Florida.
  • Experience working with geriatric populations or in a senior living community is preferred.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and behavioral health treatment modalities.
  • Strong clinical documentation and EMR proficiency.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have reliable transportation to assigned site locations. Travel reimbursement is determined based on company policy.


 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to self-navigate through assigned site facilities during work hours.
  • May require long periods of sitting, standing, bending, and lifting.
