Position Overview

As a Project Engineer at TIC Power, you will play a vital role in supporting project operations for Power construction. This position requires a detailed understanding of construction contracts, enabling you to track material availability, production schedules, project costs, and to efficiently provide necessary documentation and updates to the Project Manager. Your contributions will directly impact the success of our projects, ensuring that we meet both our clients' and organizational goals.

District Overview

The TIC Power (TICP) team, a proud subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation, specializes in delivering comprehensive direct-hire construction services focused on Power Generation. We leverage our strengths in estimating and pre-project planning to execute projects of substantial magnitude, including cogeneration, combined-cycle, geothermal, and waste-to-energy facilities. As part of a dynamic environment, you will contribute to some of the most significant EPC power plant projects across North America, working with a diverse and skilled group of professionals.

Location

This position has the flexibility to be located in various states including TX, OK, MS, AR, VA, and KS. As mobility is essential for this role, candidates must be prepared to travel to different project sites as required, with specific turnaround policies discussed during the recruitment process.

Responsibilities

In this role as a Project Engineer, you will take on important responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Collaborating with a vibrant and diverse team to effectively build, estimate, and schedule mechanical, electrical, and heavy industrial construction projects.
  • Assisting in both administrative and on-site construction activities directed by your supervisor, including reviewing proposals, specifications, and drawings, performing material takeoffs, and preparing accurate cost estimates.
  • Gaining hands-on experience in supervising subcontractors and effectively communicating with vendors.
  • Crafting detailed work plans, ensuring uncompromising quality control, managing and tracking costs and materials, scheduling necessary equipment, administering safety programs, and maintaining stellar owner relationships.


Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering is required.
  • A strong foundation in construction safety protocols alongside a comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations.
  • Solid knowledge of project scheduling, cost control, and the ability to interpret project owner specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products; familiarity with additional software such as SurvTrak, Hard Dollar, Revit, SAP, Pro Log, or Primavera “P6” will be considered an advantage.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management proficiency, along with robust written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex information succinctly.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team, showing high motivation and a strong work ethic.
  • Capacity to navigate a construction site across varying climates and environments and readiness to travel or relocate as necessary.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.

Base Compensation: $105,000/yr - $135,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
