Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
· Teach classes on a regularly scheduled basis as assigned
· Assist program coordinator in maintaining any equipment used by the student
· Assist program coordinator in developing curriculum, preparing course materials, and scheduling
· Establish and maintain academic and attendance records for student files
· Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the program coordinator
· Maintain a neat and orderly classroom or lab
· Submit attendance, grades, student evaluation, and all other required reports/documentation to the program coordinator per established procedures
· Notify program coordinator of any current or potential problems which warrant his/her attention
· Actively utilize proven retention techniques approved by the school
· Complete performance based teacher education modules as assigned by program coordinator or as needed based on outcomes of classroom observations, instructor evaluations, and student completed surveys
· Attend in-service training seminars as required
· Alert program coordinator on the first day a student is absent
· Monitor and record attendance of all students and report attendance to program coordinator for the day session and for the evening session.
· Any other duties, tasks, or projects that may be assigned by the Program Coordinator, Director of Education, or School Director.
Education/Experience/Skills
· High School Diploma or GED.
· Must have at least three years field experience in the facilities maintenance industry (Plumbing, Electrical, or Carpentry)
· Must present a professional image and conduct him/herself in the same manner
· Must be able to communicate with staff, faculty, and students
· Must work well under pressure
· Must possess skillful attention to detail
· Must possess excellent computer skills
· Ability and willingness to work split schedule to teach morning and evening classes
