Access Control Technician

About the Role - An Access Control Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing security and access control systems. They ensure the safety and security of premises by operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting access control systems such as card readers, intercoms and CCTV systems. They also provide advice and support to customers on the best access control systems for their needs and are expected to be knowledgeable of new technologies as they emerge.

Responsibilities

• Installation of Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion, Infant security, and Parking systems
• Project Management
• Maintenance and Submission of accurate paperwork and documentation
• Customer communication throughout the job
• Installing conduit, coring, or trenching
• Installing/pulling cable and wire
• Mounting panels, field devices, computers, power supplies
• Programming, set-up, and testing systems
• Testing and inspections

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Some networking experience will be needed for setting up these systems.
• Good technical knowledge and experience in electronic access control systems.
• Ability to work independently and a part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Skills in leadership and organization a MUST.
• Be able to complete and pass a level 2 background check and medical screening.
• Work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong work ethic.
• Follow safety rules and adhere to company policies.
• Comfortable lifting at least fifty pounds, and work safely while on ladders.

Pay range and compensation package - Hourly rate of $25.00 - $35.00 varied due to experience.
