Warehouse Specialist

SUMMARY: The Warehouse Specialist reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and is responsible for assisting with daily operations in the warehouse.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Monitor and document trailer temperature (cooler and freezer) regularly

· Perform routine checks on carbon monoxide detectors

· Coordinate and schedule deliveries efficiently

· Record and manage inventory using traverse receiving software

· Ser as a backup for floor receiving operations as needed.

· Provide support as a secondary resource for inventory control

· Assist with shipments and transfers as a secondary or backup resource

· Operate pallet jacks and indoor forklifts for transporting items.

· Sort and segregate products as necessary

· Maintain the cleanliness and organization of both office and warehouse areas.

· Perform other related duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Forklift license and/or certification; or ability to be trained.

· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with other employees in the organization.

· Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide with the use of a calculator.

· Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions

· Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.

· Ability to perform the physical labor necessary.

· Must be dependable, punctual & committed to team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear.

· The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and at times up to 25 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

· While performing the duties of the job, the employee is occasionally exposed to cold and wet conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.

· The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to very loud.

· This position is Monday – Friday with weekend work as needed (occasionally).

Pay: Up to $18.00 per hour
