What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jail Diversion Program Coordinator w/ $7,500 signing bonus position at Tillamook Family Counseling Center?
This clinician collaborates with Jail and Parole/Probation staff to identify incarcerated individuals displaying symptoms of mental health and/or addiction issues who are seeking recovery. The role involves conducting Behavioral Health Assessments for program referrals, diagnosing mental health and/or addiction disorders, and creating and managing treatment plans tailored to individuals in the jail environment. The position offers a $7,500 signing bonus and a relocation bonus of up to $2,500.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor, coordinate, and oversee all activities within the jail diversion program, including the appropriate allocation of funds to cover necessary resources.
- Complete Behavioral Health Assessments, including ASAM criteria, for level of care recommendations.
- Communicate and collaborate with community partners, including courts, defense attorneys, jail staff, law enforcement, and parole/probation officers.
- Provide crisis support coverage for the Crisis Team outside of office hours when needed (e.g., during sick leave, vacation, etc.).
- Become familiar with community resources and partners to identify existing resources and gaps where Jail Diversion funds might be appropriately utilized.
Required Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field, along with QMHP status.
- Experience in supervision or management is required.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
- Familiarity with the legal system, particularly working with courts and defense attorneys, is preferred.
- Experience working within the jail/prison system is advantageous.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems.
Competencies:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective time management abilities.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
