What you will do:
The Packaging Sanitation person works at the last stages of the cheese manufacturing line to pack finished products label and aggregate them for storage or shipment to distribution outlets.
Here’s a day in the life:
- Cleans work areas with chemicals and sets up the support, grind, dump, trim, tail rooms.
- Cleans mains packaging lines prior to QA preoperational inspection.
- Disassembles, cleans, reassembles, and sets up the Hayssen, 8660, bagger, curd, smokehouse, industrial patch slicer, cutter, boxer machines.
- Taping and inspecting seal bars on the 8600.
- Removes, cleans, and reinstalls machine belts according to sanitation schedule.
- Titrattion chemical testing.
- Clean, repair, and set up hand patch slicers.
- Follow lockout, tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Chemical barrel handling and moving with lift.
- Cleaning and removal of chemical in the chemical trough including proper chemical disposing.
- Maintains and changes out wires on harps.
- Looks up, reads, and understands Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Follows sanitation schedule.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word required.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs., will be required to pass a pre-work test.
- Experience in packaging or other manufacturing operations is a plus.
- Able to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public.
- Able to work a graveyard shift including weekends and holidays (cows don't understand holidays or weekends, they make milk everyday).
- Effective communication, acts as a team player, and interacts with staff at all levels of the company.
- Thorough knowledge of Tillamook products.
