Job Summary

A Service Advisor initiates automotive services and repairs by communicating with customers to ascertain performance problems and services requested. They verify warranty and service contract coverage; develop estimates; write repair orders and maintain customer rapport and records.

Specific Job-Related Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in selecting suggested service in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Utilize walk around process to increase customer awareness of vehicle condition and build rapport.
  • Generate service order estimates/quotes for customers.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain an organized schedule.
  • Conduct post-repair follow up.
  • Resolve customer complaints.
  • Maintain value, quality, and integrity.
  • Test-driving vehicles to confirm the customers’ vehicle is repaired as needed.
  • Maintaining automotive records by keeping track of problems and corrective actions.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

General Company Related Duties and Responsibilities

  • Report to work within acceptable time frames and company standards.
  • Maintain appropriate degree of professionalism towards customers and coworkers.
  • Competent in keeping up with a fast-moving and constantly changing workplace. Will have to switch gears rapidly from one activity to another, or perform several tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Service Advisor experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work efficiently with limited supervision.
  • Strong Computer & Phone Skills (Internet, MS Outlook)
  • Experience with automotive software preferred.
  • Professional appearance and work ethic
  • Self-motivated, goal oriented, and ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
  • Current, valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to work Monday- Friday with occasional weekend work.

Working Conditions

The employee will work indoors and outdoors in an auto shop environment.

Salary : $44,900 - $56,800
