Commercial Lender

General Summary

Responsible for performing a variety of duties to meet the commercial services needs of business customers. Achieves sales goals as established in the annual operating plan while complying with operating policies and procedures established for the commercial services function. Maintains ongoing business relationships and develops new business from present and prospective business customers.

Essential Functions / Major Duties

• Originates, prepares and presents loan requests for presentation to the Officers Loan Committee or Bank Board of Directors (from start to finish).
• Provides direct service to commercial customers of the bank with respect to deposit, loan, and other miscellaneous products and services.
• Identifies business opportunities and refers customers to other appropriate personnel including TSIS, consumer loans and ACH.
• Assists and supports the offices in servicing commercial customers while maintaining ownership of the overall account relationship.
• Solicits new business from present and prospective customers; maintains ongoing business relationships in order to take advantage of additional cross-selling opportunities.
• Participates in the development of new deposit products and changes to existing products.
• Jointly establishes sales objectives with assigned Chief Lending Officer in accordance with the strategic plan.
• Prepares and maintains accurate records of all customer service calls made and meetings held with present and prospective customers.

Job Specific Knowledge, Skills & Abilities / Experience

• Demonstrated expertise and ability to originate, underwrite, negotiate and complete participations.
• Thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all commercial and retail products and services.
• Considerable knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures that impact commercial lending services.
• Working knowledge of standards, practices, regulations, federal and state laws related to lending.
• Working knowledge of financial analysis and review of loan details.
• Working knowledge of loan documentation.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships.
• Exceptional sales and business development skills.
• Proficiency with personal computers and software including Excel, Word and Lotus Notes.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in related positions is normally required
• Bachelor’s Degree specializing in a related field normally required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,625.00 - $110,000.00 per year
