What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nondestructive Evaluation Technician position at Titan Metal Industries?
We are seeking a Level II NDE Inspector with PAUT certification to perform phased array ultrasonic testing on welds and pressure components per ASME code and customer specifications.
Position Overview:
The NDE Level II Inspector supports the Quality Control department with day-to-day inspection and testing activities. This includes visual inspections (VT), Phased Array UT, and UTSW, following the relevant company NDE procedure. The inspector will be certified as required by the company’s Written Practice, to a Level II certification, in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A.
The inspector works on the shop floor, performing inspections, monitoring quality control checkpoints, and ensuring compliance with fabrication drawings, standards and specifications. The NDE inspector performs inspection activities as a Level II certified technician and submits reports to document all completed NDE activity.
Duties Include:
- Perform and interpret PAUT on welds and components
- Generate accurate reports and scan data documentation
- Interface with QA, production, and customer reps
- Maintain equipment and calibration records
Requirements:
- Valid Level II PAUT (ASNT SNT-TC-1A or CP-189 compliant)
- Min. 2 years PAUT experience in pressure vessel or structural fabrication
- Proficient with OmniScan or equivalent PAUT equipment
- Strong knowledge of ASME Section V & VIII
- Capable of reading fabrication drawings and weld symbols
- Eye exam and color vision certification current
- Additional NDE certs (UT, MT, PT, VT) a plus
