Job Summary
The loan servicer is responsible for performing a variety of loan servicing functions to include analysis and research in connection with consumer loans to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, documentation, and timely processing for member transactions.
Job Responsibilities
The intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibilities required of this position and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills. - Monitors the accurate placement and performs the timely release of liens on vehicle titles, lien statements, and electronics liens for all consumer loan collateral and negotiable instruments.
- Processes internal and external requests for loan product refunds, claims, payments, payoffs, settlements.
- Submits Notice of Lien (NOL) for all states whether manually or through specific websites.
- Monitors and updates the electronic title (ELT) report.
- Receives and files all titles, NOLs, and ELTs that are sent in from branches; reviews all vehicle title and registration documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Completes the Paid Off Loan report and process appropriate documents (i.e. lien release, paid loan note, etc.).
- Initiates guaranteed asset protection (GAP) claims for members and non-members and follows up with insurance companies and members until process is complete; tracks and posts all settlements.
- Submits debt protection claims via Credit Union National Association (CUNA) website and posts claim payments to loans.
- Posts dealer payoffs and insurance payments, follows up with third party companies, and balances cash drawer daily to ensure accuracy in transactions.
- Completes the daily student choice loan report- prefunding, management queue reports and student loan certification.
- Completes Skip-A-Pay requests received by mail or via Credit Union website.
- Responds promptly and professionally to information requests from vendors, members, and Credit Union staff.
- Assists with cross training within and outside of the department; keeps department procedures updated with most current changes.
- Maintains knowledge of Credit Union consumer lending practices, policies, and procedures and understanding of compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations.
- Promotes a positive relationship between the members and the Credit Union and understands that service delivery to members is the number one priority of the Credit Union.
Required Qualifications
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
- High school diploma.
- Minimum of two years of related professional experience.

- Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision and actively engage with peers, supervisor, and related departments within the Credit Union to resolve complicated issues.

- Hybrid remote and in-office setting; general office environment when in-office.
