Job Summary

The Tommy’s Maintenance Wash Technician reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance equipment is updated and also promote preventative maintenance, and overall functionality of the wash tunnel and equipment room. Directly responsible for the timely upkeep of equipment and facilities for an assigned group of sites delivering wash quality that meets or exceeds each customer’s expectations. The Maintenance Technician partners with the regional management team to address maintenance priorities while minimizing impact on production. The position requires a complete understanding of the company’s culture, priorities, and deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of duties related to installing and maintaining machinery and backroom equipment
• Travel between car wash sites and provide routine scheduled maintenance and unscheduled breakdown repairs
• Build trusting relationships with the maintenance and operations team through our culture of accountability
• Diagnose, resolve, and test mechanical, hydraulic, piping, and pneumatic problems
• Read and comprehend work orders, schematics, and other equipment documents, including manuals
• Operate hand tools, power tools, forklift, and other equipment as needed
• Comply with all safety guidelines, procedures, and PPE requirements at all times
• Work efficiently and effectively when juggling multiple projects
• Minimum 10% out-of-market travel
• Work with site wash managers and car wash attendants on preventive maintenance
• Assist with planning, prioritizing, and executing scheduled maintenance
• Make sure that communication and information are shared efficiently with team members in order to develop excellent working relationships
• Performing maintenance and cleaning tasks as assigned
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum 3-5 years of moderate-to-advanced level experience in breakdown industrial and production maintenance preferred or trade school
• Proven experience in a maintenance technician role (car wash exp. is a plus)
• Certification from a technical institution is a plus (mechanical preferred)
• Experience with electrical, mechanical ability, hydraulics, welding, pneumatics, and plumbing is a must
• Strong time management skills and experience with planning and troubleshooting
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Comfortable with use an iPad and/or smartphone along with software applications such as Upkeep
• Positive attitude; ability to be flexible when adopting new processes and procedures
• Comfortable working independently and as a member of a team
• Dedication to honesty, integrity, and ethical conduct
• Strong time management skills and experience with planning and troubleshooting
• Reliability and punctuality
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, off-production hours, and on-call hours
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a criminal background check

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, perform repetitive motions, see variations in color, and climb and work from ladders
• Must be able to work in a variety of circumstances, including those with high noise levels, humid and dry environments, hot and cold temperatures, both inside and outside.
• Requires to travel around the city to multiple sites as needed
