What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crew Lead Painter position at Top Notch Logworks Inc.?

We are interested in Apprentice and Journeyman Painters for interior and exterior projects in the Vail and Aspen Valleys. You must have reliable transportation. Wages are dependent on experience and performance. You must be able to lift 75 lbs. and not be afraid of heights.This position requires a self-motivated individual who wants to help build a vibrant painting/staining branch and grow with the company. The job does entail working outside, requires lifting 60 lbs., climbing ladders/heights, driving 1.5 hours one way to job sites, and dedication to completing the work and carrying through for both our clients and our employees. Compensation: $18-$23/hr.

Schedule: 8-10 hours/day, M-F

Duties

  • Work efficiently to complete job within bid contract hours
  • Communicating with clients to determine their painting requirements and helping them make the best decisions for their projects
  • Assembling scaffolding as required
  • Covering trim, floors, furniture and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint
  • Setting up ventilators and other safety equipment to protect Painters from unhealthy fumes
  • Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until they’re smooth
  • Applying primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them
  • Mixing and matching paint, stain and other finishes to job specifications
  • Applying paint, stain and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers or sprayers according to quality control specifications
  • Maintaining an inventory of supplies like paint brushes, rollers and tarps
  • Removing old finish using scrapers, chemical compounds, etc.
  • Cleaning machines, equipment and work areas using water, solvents and other cleaning aids
  • Reviewing and implementing work orders and assignments
  • Removing and reinstalling fixtures (e..g, doorknobs, electric switch covers) as necessary
  • Following safeguards, rules and regulations
  • Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints and project plans to gain a thorough scope of the project
  • Compiling and delivering job records to office (receipts, change orders, checks, etc)

Qualifications

1 Year Painting Experience (required)

Bilingual (preferred)

Ability to read blue prints (preferred)

Clean driving record (required)

Reliable vehicle (required)

Climb ladders & work from heights (required)

Work onsite or in office (required)
