Job Overview:
TopCashback is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual with a passion for public relations and consumer advocacy to join our US Public Relations Team as our Public Relations (PR) Coordinator. The PR Coordinator is responsible for helping secure national and local earned media coverage through newsworthy content that showcases what TopCashback is all about — helping consumers save money in the most generous way possible. With the ability to learn and apply new information effectively, you’ll play a significant role in crafting compelling pitches and nurturing relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including media personnel.
The PR Coordinator should be committed to continuous learning and professional development, with opportunities provided by TopCashback to acquire new skills and grow your expertise. As a member of the PR Team, you’ll be working to increase brand awareness around TopCashback’s key messaging and values. From contributing to the department’s strategy in dynamic and collaborative ways to collaborating with the team on refining new ideas, the PR Coordinator role at TopCashback provides an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
● Assist in daily PR operations by preparing and sending pitches to media using Cision and/or email. Track success by monitoring responses and media mentions.
● Identify and pitch to relevant media opportunities via platforms like HARO and Qwoted, aiming for at least 5 pitches each week.
● Create and schedule at least one post per day on each organic social media channel, using tools like Google Sheets, Canva and Social Pilot.
● Collect and prepare materials for PR surveys and brainstorming sessions, ensuring materials are ready based on the agreed upon deadline.
● Work with other departments to promote the TopCashback brand, with the goal of understanding opportunities for collaboration, guided by the PR Officer.
● Keep track of consumer habits and media trends, providing a bi-monthly report on findings and potential opportunities.
● Adopt TopCashback’s tone of voice in written communications within six months, guided by the PR Officer.
● Participate in at least one professional development opportunity every three months to enhance skills and PR knowledge.

Desired Skills and Experience:
● Public relations experience — 1 year (Preferred)
● Writing skills — 2 years (Preferred)
● Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)
● Ability to adopt new skills and procedures in a timely manner.
● Knowledge of personal finance, shopping, money-saving tips and consumer habits.
● Interest in current news and trends in the media.
● Creative and strategic thinker who is self-motivated and proactive.
● Understanding of AP Style.
● Ability to multitask and stay organized.
● Familiarity with platforms like Cision, Muck Rack, Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.), Notion, ChatGPT, Social Pilot, Canva and/or SurveyMonkey.
● Comfortable navigating various social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
