The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the facility is fully operational, safe, clean, and maintained according to company standards. This position performs a variety of skilled maintenance tasks in the areas of carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general upkeep to support the functionality and appearance of buildings and grounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and resolve issues.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on building systems including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
- Repair and maintain HVAC systems, lighting, doors, locks, furniture, and other facility-related components.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders, ensuring timely resolution.
- Maintain records of all maintenance and repair work.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or projects.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and building codes.
- Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and submit purchase requests when necessary.
- Assist in setting up for company events, moves, or rearrangement of office space and furniture.
- Support emergency response efforts and serve as a key contact for facility-related emergencies.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school or certification in a relevant trade is a plus.
- 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, work in various environments, and operate hand/power tools.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license may be required depending on the job location.
- OSHA certification or knowledge of workplace safety standards.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking software or work order systems
