Torch Technologies, a 100 percent employee-owned company, is seeking a professional Product Owner to join a team currently developing a virtual training device. Candidates applying for this position will have the opportunity to apply their passion for leading a team developing products for educating and training soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and civilians using the latest visualization technology (including Unreal Engine, Oculus Rift, etc.).
The candidate will be a part of a highly-motivated visualization team, building high-profile products that significantly reduce or eliminate the need for high-cost hardware trainers. The candidate selected for this position will lead a development team working closely with software programmers, artists, subject matter experts, and product stakeholders to develop virtual training devices. Candidate must be able to work well both independently and within a multi-collaborative team environment. The candidate will also work with other team members to pursue additional customers in order to expand the Torch Advanced VizLAB portfolio of products.
Job Responsibilities
Lead a team of software developers, designers, and artists to implement stakeholder vision for virtual training devices.
Create and execute a product schedule within budget given input from stakeholders.
Follow best practices of Agile Scrum development processes
Communicate budget, technical and schedule progress, and issues to stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
5 years’ experience as Product Owner/Product development
Knowledge of Agile Scrum process
Possess a demonstrated ability to work unsupervised, prioritize workload, manage time efficiently, and work in a team environment
Highly organized with excellent spoken and written communication skills
A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science discipline desirable
Bonus Qualifications
Experience using Perforce or similar version control software
Experience using JIRA or similar agile development tools
Experience in developing training software
Passion for Product Development
The position requires that the candidate meet requirements to obtain a final secret security clearance to access classified information. Inability to obtain a secret clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position. Candidate must be able to travel as needed.
