What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Total Access Medical?
Established family practice seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to work directly with the physician in treating and caring for his small population of direct primary care patients.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must be able to perform blood draws, EKGs, lab specimen collection and processing, vaccine administration, take vitals, and other routine clinical tasks.
- Candidate must be friendly and willing to provide a high level of personal service to a small but demanding population of patients.
- Candidate must be comfortable using a scanner and computer for electronic record keeping.
- Candidate may also be responsible for minor administrative tasks as needed (pre-certifications, prescription refills, etc.)
- At least two (2) years clinical experience required (preferably in a primary care setting).
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-exam patient screenings, as needed
- Take and record vital signs and patient histories
- Perform phlebotomy / injections
- Prepare specimens for lab pick-up (blood spinning, urinalysis, etc.)
- Perform EKGs
- Immunizations (routine vaccines, allergy shots, flu shots, etc.)
- Follow-up with patients after visit when appropriate, as indicated by Dr.
- Call-in patient prescriptions
- Prepare pre/prior-authorizations
- Maintain medical supply inventory and order when necessary (with approval from TAM)
- Enter clinical data into EMR system
- Work with Dr. on in office patient procedures, as needed
- Smile and provide excellent friendly service to every patient
Monday - Friday; 8am - 4pm
No evening or weekend hours
