Description
As a design team member, this position offers the opportunity to work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams in developing civil layout drawings in a 3D model. Responsible for designing and drafting project design concepts, plans, and construction documents for various engineering projects, such as commercial, industrial and residential development, public works facility improvements including grading, roadway geometric layout, erosion control, drainage system design, utilities, and quantity calculations. The candidate shall be experienced in using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, including preparing profiles, alignments, pipe networks, surfaces, and preparing construction drawings and details.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of engineering design work process
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with 3D modeling in AutoCAD
- Experience with Microsoft Office with a strong understanding of Excel
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and documents
- Experience in creating detailed drawings and models from written and verbal specifications
- Experience working with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards, and design documentation
- Experience handling complex designing and drafting assignments under minimal supervision
- Experience creating manuals that describe existing products' operation, features, and maintenance
- Experience examining and checking engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications
- Able to communicate with staff, clients, local jurisdictions, and consultants
- Work independently, think critically and proactively, and work efficiently in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
Education & Experience:
- Associates Degree or higher (preferred)
- 5 years experience (preferred)
- Civil 3D: 3 years (preferred)
- AutoCAD: 5 years (preferred)
