Berkeley Ironworks is looking for a coach who will coach both with our Comp Team on Mondays as well as our newly minted Development Team on Wednesdays and Fridays. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Team Coach to work with these teams. The ideal candidate will bring a strong climbing background, a passion for coaching youth, and a creative approach to instruction. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the next generation of climbers in a supportive and engaging environment. This job starts September 1.

Key Responsibilities
- Coach both the Comp Team and Development Team, focusing on bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing.
- Teach and reinforce climbing techniques such as footwork, body positioning, movement efficiency, and route reading.
- Develop and lead strength training programs tailored to the needs of youth climbers, emphasizing injury prevention and appropriate strength gains.
- Create an enjoyable and engaging learning environment for kids of various ability levels and learning styles.
- Collaborate with other coaches to design and implement high-quality training programs for Team Touchstone.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes growth, learning, and a love for climbing.
- Climbing Experience: Proficient in bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing with a solid understanding of climbing fundamentals.
- Coaching Skills: Ability to explain climbing techniques clearly and effectively to youth athletes.
- Passion for Youth Development: Patient, enthusiastic, and capable of working with kids of different ages and skill levels.
- Creative Instruction: Innovative in creating fun, engaging, and effective coaching sessions.
- Collaboration: Excited to work as part of a team to provide an exceptional experience for our climbers.
- Availability: Must be available to coach on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and Fridays from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
- Competition Climbing Experience: Experience in competitive climbing is desirable, but not required.
